PARITY PRIVACY POLICY

This policy explains how the Parity app handles information. Parity is a currency, crypto, gold, oil, and calculator tool that runs in your web browser. It does not ask you to create an account.
1. Who this applies to
This policy applies to the Parity app opened from its local files or from a page that hosts those same files. Parity is not a bank, exchange, or broker. Rates shown in the app are for information only.
2. Information Parity stores on your device
Parity does not send a user profile to a Parity server. The app has no Parity account, login, or customer database.
The app saves two kinds of settings in your browser’s local storage, on that device only:
- Your watchlist (currencies and coins you star).
- The currency you choose for gold and oil prices.
That information stays in the browser until you clear the site data for this app, or until you remove those items inside the app. Clearing your browser data for this page deletes it. Parity cannot restore it, because it is not copied to a Parity server.
Amounts you type into Convert or the calculator are kept in memory while the page is open. They are not written to an account and are not uploaded by Parity.
3. Information you choose to copy
If you tap Copy, Parity places the conversion text on your device clipboard so you can paste it elsewhere. Parity does not read your clipboard and does not send that text to a Parity server.
4. Live data from other services
To show rates, Parity asks public market services for prices from your browser. Those requests can include your IP address, the time of the request, and ordinary browser details, because that is how the internet works. Parity does not add your name, email, or account number to those requests.
Services the app contacts include:
- ExchangeRate-API (open.er-api.com) for fiat exchange rates.
- Coinbase for updated fiat exchange rates.
- CoinGecko for cryptocurrency names, images, and prices.
- Binance for a live cryptocurrency price stream.
- Gold-API for gold and silver spot prices.
- The U.S. Energy Information Administration (api.eia.gov) for oil spot prices.
- Google Fonts for the typefaces used on screen.
Each of those providers handles connection data under its own privacy policy. Parity does not control those sites.
Search text you type for a currency or coin is sent to CoinGecko only when the app looks up a coin that is not already loaded. It is used to return matching coins.
5. What Parity does not do
Parity does not:
- Require an account or collect your name, email, phone number, or government ID.
- Ask for bank, card, or wallet details.
- Sell personal information.
- Use your conversion amounts for advertising.
- Track you across other websites with its own advertising profile.
6. Children
Parity is a general rates tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. How long information is kept
Device settings stay in local storage until you change them or clear browser data for this app. Live rate requests are not stored by Parity after the page uses them. How long a third-party service keeps connection logs is controlled by that service.
8. Your choices
You can:
- Remove starred currencies inside Markets.
- Change or ignore the gold and oil display currency.
- Stop using the app and clear this site’s data in your browser settings.
- Refuse clipboard access if your browser asks; Copy will not save the text off the device.
Because Parity does not keep a user account, there is no Parity profile to access, correct, or delete on a server.
9. Security
Settings stay on your device in normal browser storage. Anyone who can use that browser profile can see the watchlist and the chosen display currency. Use a device and browser profile you trust.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated text will replace this file and the “Last updated” date will change. Continued use of the app after an update means you are using the app under the new policy.
11. Contact
Parity does not operate a user account desk. Questions about data held by ExchangeRate-API, Coinbase, CoinGecko, Binance, Gold-API, the U.S. Energy Information Administration, or Google should go to those providers.
